Pechory is an ancient Russian monastery that recently became wide known thanks to Tikhon Shevkunov\u2019s book «Unholy saints». The book is interesting, by the way.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Pechory is a city in the west of Pskov, on the border with Estonia. We went there for the monastery with a cave church.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The monastery is very beautiful — all in the hills and in the hollows. Unfortunately, the caves have not been shown.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
A remarkable feature of the monastery is enviable cheekiness of priests, especially priests’ commanders. Going up their career, they are equally messy grow their beards and charisma. And they both stick out in different directions and harm people, instead of attracting them to the church.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
We accidentally went to some narrow path signed inconspicuous sign «Unauthorized persons not admitted» and came up to the porch, near which some preachers discussed catechism. Suddenly one of them put his finger to us and said:<\/p>\n

We bypassed the monastery along the walls, and saw a goat and decided to make an acquaintance. After a while, it turned out that she was not alone on the grass. That someone was a granny, she raises her head and said:<\/p>\n
